Private office

What is it?

Private office: definition and overview

A private office is an enclosed workspace dedicated to a single company, located in a building housing other companies. They can be found in operated offices or coworking spaces. They are sought after for reasons of tranquility, confidentiality or to cultivate a strong corporate culture.

Private offices: where to find them?

When the private office is not internalized by the company, it can be located in shared workspaces:

  • a section of one floor shared with other companies as part of the corpoworking concept;
  • a dedicated area or floor in a coworking space;
  • a freestanding tray in an operated office space.

What are the advantages of a flexible private office?

Many structures offer this type of space. The private office increases the number of offices available on the market.

For companies and freelancers looking forsecure workspaces andprivacy, the private office is the ideal choice.

To take advantage of this, employees have their own entrance. Depending on their needs, they also benefit from :

  • closed offices;
  • shared offices ;
  • common, open spaces (such as relaxation or dining areas) ;
  • meeting rooms reserved for them.

It also relieves you of the burden of office maintenance: elevator, printer, coffee machine, etc. Private office rentals often include additional services such as Wi-Fi and cleaning.

Subscription is flexible. Private office space can be rented by the month or by the year, and the reservation period depends on the individual's needs (around 12 months for operated office space).

If it's mainly an isolated space, it's possible to meet other employees on the premises and network.

Private office: how to adapt it to your employees' needs?

The design and layout of private offices should be tailored to the needs of employees. In addition to including a variety of space types such as open spaces, closed offices or common areas, they can be designed to best meet these needs with :

  • a stand-up desk for working standing up;
  • a pouffe for relaxed working;
  • soundproof partitions to enhance concentration ;
  • a glass roof to avoid isolation in a partitioned space.

Thanks to its flexibility, the private office enables companies to adapt their offices to the practices of their teams, and adjust the size of their workspace as they grow to accommodate all their employees.
