Corpoworking: what are we talking about?
Corpoworking is a concept born from the combination of the terms "corporate" and "coworking". It refers to the creation of a shared workspace within a company. What exactly are we talking about?
What is corpoworking?
Unpartitioned and convivial, corpoworking encourages innovation and creativity, and creates a dynamic ecosystem around a community. In this sense, the concept can be likened to a coworking space within a company, open to both employees and outsiders:
- independents ;
- start-ups looking for innovative spaces;
- customers ;
- service providers.
How do I set up corpoworking?
What are the prerequisites for corpoworking?
To set up corpoworking within your company, you first need to check your lease. The terms of the lease must authorize the subletting of all or part of the company's offices. If the lease authorizes subletting, the square meters to be sublet must be clearly indicated in the contract.
A corpoworking space must offer the same level of comfort and equipment as traditional offices. The same quality and comfort standards AFNOR NF X 35-102 quality and comfort standards must be applied to all workspaces, including minimum surface area, lighting, hearing comfort and ergonomic furniture.
How do you design workspaces for corpoworking?
Before embarking on corpoworking, you need to make sure that the workspaces are adapted to the different expectations of the communities that will occupy them.
Workspace design must meet the needs of its users:
- closed offices to facilitate concentration or confidential tasks;
- collaborative spaces to stimulate encounters and creativity;
- meeting rooms to encourage exchanges ;
- a relaxation room to unwind...
For an optimal collaborative experience, the corpoworking space must also take into account user circulation. This sometimes involves a complete reconfiguration of the space, requiring the services of an architect.
What are the advantages of corpoworking?
Corpoworking makes a company's internal premises more flexible. You can make the most of unused square meters and improve office occupancy rates by opening them up to external workers.
For example, if a company's current headcount does not allow it to fill all its leased premises over the long term, it can open a dedicated corpoworking space to fill unoccupied spaces.
Corpoworking also makes it possible to offer services that encourageinnovation, collaboration and conviviality : development of professional networks, creativity, exchanges...
