Hybrid working to attract and retain talent

Corporate telecommuting has become increasingly popular over the last few years (due to the health crisis), and today, 82% of eligible employees intend to keep it. But what are their motivations? And how is this way of working attractive and synonymous with talent retention? We take a closer look at the benefits in our infographic.

What is hybrid work?

The hybrid working is the practice of combining presence in the office with remote working (at home, coworking, workation...). Employees can work from home, but not exclusively, and adapt their workplace according to their daily tasks and personal constraints. Important meetings? They prefer the office. Personal needs? Why not telework?

Hybrid working on the rise

After the health crisis, at the end of 2021, 56% of private-sector employees will be practicing hybrid work, compared with 30% at the end of 2019 and 34% at the end of 2020.

This trend is driven by employee needs: 82% of employees want to continue working in this way.

The advantages of this new way of working

For employees

For employees, hybrid mode has many advantages.

  • It offers a better quality of life (in general, according to 88% of employees surveyed, and at work specifically, for 85%).
  • It improves physical health for 85% of those interviewed.
  • It saves time and contributes to everyone's well-being.
  • It enables employees to regain freedom of choice and more control over their lives overall, which in turn fosters motivation, commitment and fulfillment.

And if the employee lives far from his or her workplace, it's all the more advantageous since it can limit travel and reduce daily stress.

Hybrid work: attracting and retaining talent

Today, telecommuting policy is one subject, but the focus should be on hybrid working policy, which will clarify the framework for telecommuting and make it part of the company's overall operation.

During the recruitment process, candidates ask about teleworking policies. This has become the basic demand. They are generally looking for flexibility of choice, autonomy and a new managerial approach based on trust.

"For over 90% of applicants, the 3 key criteria for choosing a company are: career prospects, teleworking policy and corporate culture."

But is it a reality? What do the figures really say?

With its "Work where it works" policy, worklib is proof of the attractiveness of hybrid working. Out of 40 employees, the 12 most senior were recruited remotely. These include 1 manager in Lille, 3 developers in Nancy and 8 people who were supported in their mobility projects when they left Paris. Want to find out more?
